The conference “Twenty years of the application of the codified law of Lithuanian criminal justice”

On February 10th, 2023, the “Spring of Law” event took place at the VU Law Faculty – an international scientific-practical conference “Twenty years of the application of the codified law of Lithuanian criminal justice”, which was organized by members of the Department of Criminal Justice.

The conference was opened by the Dean of the VU Law Faculty, assoc. prof. dr. Haroldas Šinkūnas. The first report was read by prof. dr. Jonas Prapiestis, he reviewed the criminal statistics during the period of existence of the criminal code, and talked about how the decision to create a new criminal code was reached.

Lithuanian and Ukrainian legal scholars and legal practitioners gave presentations at the event. They analyzed the problems of criminal law in Ukraine and Lithuania and talked about the necessary changes in this field.
