The conference presented the challenges and opportunities of digital technologies
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are becoming more and more widespread in society, leading to an ever closer scrutiny of the law in this area and a debate about possible changes.
Today, at the interdisciplinary scientific conference “Challenges and Opportunities of the Digital Age in the Enforcement Process”, researchers from the VU Law Faculty discussed the impact of digitalisation on the enforcement process, the opportunities of AI and the challenges related to digital assets.
The conference was opened by the Head of the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania, Dovilė Satkauskienė. She highlighted the issues raised by the digital age. What is the definition of digital assets? How to trace the digital assets of a particular person, one of whose characteristics is anonymity? Prof. Habil. Dr. Vytautas Nekrošius, who gave the welcoming speech as well, stressed the importance of keeping up with the development of technology and of creating a law that will allow the further development of digital technologies.
The conference was organised by VU Law Faculty and the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Lithuania to celebrate the 20th anniversary of private bailiffs.
