Interactive commemoration of March 11 “Acts of March 11 in the context of the 30th anniversary of the Constitution”

On 10th of March 2022 VU Scientific Communication and Information Center held a traditional event organized by our faculty’s Department of Public Law and Corp. Iustitia on the occasion of Independence Restoration Day, which this year is called “1990 m. March 11 acts of 1992 in the context of the Constitution”.

The event started with the greeting of the President of the Republic, which was read by the Advisor to the President, Austėja Petkūnienė, and Vice-Dean Harold Šinkūnas gave the greeting on behalf of the Faculty. More than 40 students participated in the event, and reports were read by the chairman of the Seimas Law and Order Committee Stasys Šedbaras, MRU professor Toma Birmontienė and associate professor of the Department of Public Law Vaidotas A. Vaičaitis, who in his report compared the 1990 Acts of Independence of Lithuania of March 11, 1991 August 24 Acts of independence of Ukraine. The event ended with the students’ practical task, in which they had to create an original Act of Independence of Lithuania. Meaningful prizes established by the Faculty of Law and the Seimas awaited the winners.
