Discussion “Time for justice: Ukraine’s cases against Russia in international courts”
Ukraine has filed cases against Russia in all major international courts, including the International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, for gross violations of international law. An investigation has also been launched at the International Criminal Court, opening the door to individual criminal responsibility for international crimes.
On 29th of March 2022 the discussion organized by the VU Faculty of Law together with the Newcastle School of Law examined processes in international courts in order to find out how these mechanisms could best be used to achieve responsibility for gross violations of international law according to the norms of the law of state responsibility and international criminal law.
