Lecture-discussion “Protection of Creators’ Rights in Creative Industries”
VU Faculty of Law implements the project “Protection of Creators’ Rights in Creative Industries”, partially financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council (Copyrights and Related Rights Protection Program), the aim of which is to develop the skills of young artists studying in art programs, other creators and managers working in the fields of creative industries, and to provide them essential knowledge of intellectual property, which would allow understanding the meaning of intellectual property, its benefits and risks using previously created creative results, thereby reducing situations of illegal use of intellectual property.
One of the partners of the project is the Union of Lithuanian Writers. On December 4th, 2019, one of the project’s activities took place in the premises of the Writers’ Union: a lecture-discussion on current issues of copyright, in which Lithuanian writers and publishers participated. The event was organized and hosted by VU TF partnership professor Ramūnas Birštonas (project manager), dr. Jūratė Liauksminaitė and Lijana Kanarskienė.
