International scientific conference “Modernization of Company Law: Effective, Innovative and Optimal Solutions”
On 17th of November, the international scientific conference “Modernization of Company Law: effective, innovative and optimal solutions” was organised by Vilnius University Faculty of Law. This was the final event of the national scientific project “Convergence and Divergence of Companies: Is the Lithuanian Company Law Attractive in the International Context?” implemented by company law experts. The project was funded by the Lithuanian Research Council (No. MIP-020/2015).
The event provided a unique opportunity to hear a number of well-known company law professionals, such as former director and Emeritus scientific member at Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law Prof. (Em.) Dr. Dr. Klaus Hopt, professor of commercial and company law at University of Luxembourg Pierre-Henri Conac, professor of commercial contracts and corporate governance at the University of Tilburg and at Ghent University Dr. Christoph Van der Elst, professor of company law at Ghent University Dr. Hans de Wulf, chair of the company law committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe Prof. Vanessa Knapp, president of Allerhand Institute Prof. Habil. Dr. Arkadiusz Radwan. Professor at Vilnius University Faculty of Law Habil. Dr. Valentinas Mikelėnas, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paulius Miliauskas, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lina Mikalonienė, PhD candidate Vilius Miliauskas and associate professor at Vytautas Magnus University Dr. Agnė Tikniūtė also presented their final findings of the national scientific project “Convergence and Divergence of Companies: Is the Lithuanian Company Law Attractive in the International Context?”. Lecturer at Vilnius University Faculty of Law dr. Eglė Lauraitytė moderated one of the discussions. Also a book of the project was presented during the conference.
