The Spring of Law Science (SLS’2016)
On 4-5 February 2016, VU Faculty of Law initiated a new semester and the 375th year of its anniversary with a beautiful tradition – “The Spring of Law Science”.
On 4 February, the Department of Private Law organized a national conference of law science “Private Law Efficiency Research”.
During the opening of the conference, Dean of Faculty of Law Prof. Tomas Davulis and President of the Conference, Head of Department of Private Law Department Prof. Habil. Dr. Vytautas Nekrošiu welcomed a large crowd of conference participants.
The conference was aimed at discussing the current topical issues of private law and problems of legal regulation in different areas of private law. The first part of the conference was dedicated for the analysis of the possibilities to apply soft law sources in interpreting the civil law of Lithuania. Later, the regulatory innovations of natural person’s legal capacity in Lithuania, possibilities of contract freedom principle in the labour law, etc. were discussed.
The reports were presented by the scholars of VU Faculty of Law and MRU Faculty of Law and prominent legal practitioners.
On 5 February, VU Faculty of Law hosted the annual Student Scientific Society Conference SSS 2016. Faculty students presented their individual research results to the academic community. Also, the Faculty’s Alumni Society awarded students Arpine Babayan, Martyna Budnikaitė, Simona Budreikaitė and Simona Venskutė with the Memorial Scholarship of Professor Jonas Žeruolis.
In addition, a round table discussion for doctoral students “The Common Errors in Preparing Scientific Publications and Thesis” was held by Prof. Dr. Armanas Abramavičius, Prof. Dr. Tomas Davulis, Prof. Dr. (HP) Vytautas Mizaras ir Prof. Habil. Dr. Gintaras Švedas.
