Conference “Criminal Justice and Business”
On 16 October 2015, Vilnius University Faculty of Law hosted a conference on “Criminal Justice and Business”, which was organized by the Department of Criminal Justice. The conference sparked a great interest gathering more than 300 guests from various institutions such as the prosecutor’s office, the courts, as well as various businesses, which shows the relevance of the topic and the need for a more detailed analysis of the criminal law and business links.
According to a participant of the event advocate Gintautas Bartkus, the conference should help shape a new approach to criminal justice and modernize the criminal justice mechanism. Prof. Aurelijus Gutauskas noted in his report that the growing number of conflicting business cases perpetrates the need for more specific knowledge of not only the criminal law, but also the business.
It is expected that the event will stimulate further debate on criminal justice and business interaction.
