International scientific-practical conference “Tax Mitigation: Pursuit of Effectiveness or Abuse of Law“
On 16-17 May 2013, the department of Public Law of Vilnius University Faculty of Law and VU Faculty of Law’s Alumni Society hosted an international scientific-practical conference “Tax Mitigation: Pursuit of Effectiveness or Abuse of Law?”.
The key goal of the conference was to find the partitioning criteria of tax planning and tax evasion, to examine the approach to authorised (tolerable) tax planning and to discuss the issues of the responsibility for breaching the established limits by analysing the current legal framework as well as international and national case law.
The conference was aimed at tax law researchers and practitioners, civil servants working in the field of fiscal policy formation and tax administration, auditors, lawyers, judges, students of later years, entrepreneurs, and all interested in the system, politics, administration of taxes.
