International conference “Recent Trends in Economy and Efficiency of Civil Procedure”
The Code of Civil Procedure of the Republic of Lithuania has been in force for 10 years. What is the experience of Lithuania? What changes and trends are observed? What are future prospects? These and other related questions were discussed on 9-10 May 2013 in a conference “Recent Trends in Economy and Efficiency of Civil Procedure” that took place at Vilnius University.
The conference was organised by Vilnius University Faculty of Law in collaboration with the International Association of Procedural Law and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. Not only Lithuanian but also foreign lawyers took part in the event and shared their experience. “The participants who showed their interest in the conference were not only from the neighbour countries but also from overseas, such as Brazil, USA or Japan,” one of the organisers Dr. Vigita Vėbraitė emphasised the transnational nature of the conference.
The participants discussed the latest trends of civil procedure not only at national but also at international level. According to dr. V. Vėbraitė, the most relevant questions and changes of the civil procedure were discussed. “This kind of conferences helps not only to strengthen collaboration with foreign experts but also to discuss future prospects” the organisers emphasized.
