Lithuanian Criminal Justice Law: Experience and Future
Collection of peer-reviewed scientific articles “Lithuanian Criminal Justice Law: Experience and Future” (“Lietuvos baudžiamosios justicijos teisė. Patirtis ir ateitis”) (compiled by Prof. Dr Jonas Prapiestis), dedicated to Liber amicorum professor Habil. Dr Gintaras Švedas, for his contribution to the development of Lithuanian criminal justice and legal system.
This publication analyses the problems of doctrine, legislation and application of the Lithuanian criminal justice codified law. The articles also address issues in other branches of law, which are related to criminal justice from various perspectives. Three articles are devoted to the problems of criminal law in Ukraine in the context of the country’s ongoing war, and to an analysis of the concept and principles of the country’s new Criminal Code.
The book consists of 33 articles authored by legal scholars from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, Mykolas Romeris and Vytautas Magnus Universities, Jagiellonian University (Poland), the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Ukraine), and the Baltic International Academy (Latvia), as well as by the heads of the law enforcement and other legal institutions of the Republic of Lithuania, and well-known representatives of the country’s science.
The book was reviewed by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania, Professor of Law at the VU Law Faculty, Dr Gintaras Goda, Professor Saulius Katuoka, Director of the Institute of International and European Union Law at the Mykolas Romeris University Law School, Dr Saulius Katuoka, Professor of Law of the University of Latvia, and Dr Vidmantas Egidijus Kurapka, Honorary Professor of Law of the Mykolas Romeris University.
