“Spring of Legal Science” is an annual collection of the best works of the students of Vilnius University Faculty of Law. The research selected for the collection was evaluated by an authoritative jury, which first listened to original presentations by the researchers. Accuracy, the ability to present a legal problem, to identify different arguments for its solution, to confront them and to extract the best solution – these are the qualities of a legal professional that are necessary for a successful lawyer. But this is not the only reason why the legal profession is valued in society. The public, which is lost in the flow of different ideologies, interests and information, does not only expect procedural justice, but also, and above all, value-based justice. A humanistic approach to the human person, respect for individual freedom and awareness of the vulnerability of the individual, the ability to balance the individual interests of society and the subject – these are the qualities without which a legal professional cannot be imagined.
