On 13-15 September this year, Masaryk University Faculty of Law hosted the XIX International Congress “Criminalistics and Forensic Expertology: Science, Studies, Practice”. Members of the Department of Criminal Justice at the Law Faculty of the Vilnius University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gabrielė Juodkaitė-Granskienė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrej Gorbatkov, moderated the first session of the congress and presented presentations on the importance of scientific evidence in court and the need for special knowledge to address situational issues. The Congress programme is available čia.
Each Congress traditionally includes a collection of peer-reviewed scientific articles, which contains the most relevant scientific articles in criminalistics and forensic science. These include publications by the above-mentioned scientists (together with their co-authors). This year, as in previous years, the collection of peer-reviewed scientific articles was compiled by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gabrielė Juodkaitė-Granskienė. The member of the Scientific-Editorial Committee of this publication was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrej Gorbatkov, and one of the reviewers was Assoc. Prof. Pranas Kuconis.
