This semester the students of Vilnius University Law Faculty had an opportunity to learn from American professor Priscilla Harris, who comes from Appalachian Law School (USA). She has been representing a program called “Core Fulbright Scholar” for the whole spring semester. The aim of this program is to exchange knowledge and skills between Americans and people from different countries. Professor taught three subjects at Vilnius University Law Faculty: Introduction to American legal system, Global food law, American litigation skills seminars. According to Priscilla Harris, Lithuania was the country she chose because of its law system development after Soviet Union and a great progress since restoration of independence. “I think that Lithuania should be considered the Gateway Country for democracy in Eastern Europe”, says professor.
Prof. Harris reveals that she has already fallen in love with Lithuania, especially for potato pancakes and people she met. Vilnius Old town, Cathedral and many churches were the places Priscilla Harris visited and was amazed. “I have attended several wonderful operas and ballets at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre where I had the best hot chocolate in the world”. She also visited Lithuanian courts and has best impressions about Lithuanian Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of Lithuania. Prof. Harris wants to say the biggest thanks to all the students she was working with and the people she met during her visit, who made her visit in Lithuania even more unforgettable.
