PhD student Jorge Luis Collantes from Perpignan University (France) is visiting Vilnius at the moment and spends most of his time in Vilnius University library. After he finished his legal studies in Barcelona and became PhD student at Perpignan University he decided that it is necessary to visit any country in Eastern Europe and get acquainted with its legal system, especially about legal regulation on public procurement as his PhD thesis is about harmonisation of public procurement in transnational perspective. PhD student decided to come to Lithuania because website of Spanish Embassy recommended to visit Vilnius University for students and he has been interested in Baltic States history and politics since he has heard about them at school.
After arriving he was amazed by the warm welcome by the persons at Vilnius University Faculty of Law and in the library of Vilnius University. Jorge Luis Collantes reveals that he was really surprised by the conditions to do research at Vilnius University Scholarly Communication and Information Center (SCIC). “It is unbelievable to have opportunity to write PhD Thesis, collect material and to read electronic resources 24/7 in the library, because you never know when you will have inspiration to write your thesis. This is a privilege and a nice Baltic surprise for me”. PhD student also says that he feels really safe in such green city Vilnius.
