In line with the University’s policy, all employees and students of the Law Faculty are asked to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) by 14th November 2024.
Why is this important?
MFA ensures that our accounts are more secure and better protected from potential cyber threats. A password alone is insufficient, and MFA safeguards your login even if your password is compromised. It also ensures that no one can access your account without further verification.
Steps to take as soon as possible:
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google Play or the App Store.
- Activate the app and link it to your Vilnius University account by following the provided instructions.
- Detailed instructions to assist you with the installation can be found here https://santaka.vu.lt/display/DUK/Multi-factor+authentication).
What to do if you encounter difficulties?
For assistance, please contact the IT support team at pagalba@vu.lt or use the “Ask about additional MFA” on https://pagalba.vu.lt/plugins/servlet/desk .
Each unit has an IT specialist available to assist with set-up.
Important:
MFA will only need to be used four times a year, provided there are no changes to your work computer or mobile device. Your account will be secured as soon as MFA is activated.
