On 14 September, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania Evaldas Pašilis and VU Faculty of Law Dean prof. dr. Tomas Davulis strengthened the cooperation between the two institutions by signing a new contract. The partnership is aimed at opening new opportunities for both parties.
In order to create the most favourable conditions for bridging the gap between legal education and legal practice and to promote legal development, the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Faculty of Law agreed to cooperate in several areas. The cooperation includes the organisation of joint conferences, seminars, trainings and discussions on legal issues, the promotion of information about events, qualification trainings and internships at the General Prosecutor’s Office and qualification trainings for public prosecutors and other Prosecutor’s Office employees at the Faculty of Law, as well as mutual exchange of certain statistics, data and research results.
General Prosecutor’s Office invited Faculty students and professors to come to the excursions around the General Prosecutor’s Office. During the excursion, one can not only see the unique inner architecture of the building, but also learn about the inner life of the institution, for example, the process of interrogation, working with hard offenders, storage of material evidence, the methods of keeping the documents safe, etc. Here one can find interesting and significant exhibits that are important not only at the institution’s level, but also in terms of Lithuania’s legal history.
