Gintautas Bartkus, assoc. professor of practice at Vilnius University Faculty of Law, has been appointed to the panel of International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) for a second term. The term of office is 6 years and will end in 2027. March 16. Congratulations!
ICSID was established in 1966 under the Convention on the settlement of investment disputes between States and nationals of other States (ICSID Convention). ICSID is the world’s leading institution for resolving international investment disputes. It has extensive experience in this field, handling most of international investment disputes. In most international investment treaties and in many investment laws, countries have agreed on ICSID as a forum for resolving disputes between investors and states. ICSID is an independent, depoliticized and effective dispute resolution body. ICSID helps investors and states to promote international investment by providing confidence in the dispute resolution process. ICSID belongs to the World Bank Group.
