Biennial French Law School Programme, as one of the most known and unique project in Lithuania, has been organized a few times by the French Law Centre together with the Paris West University Nanterre La Défense (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense), with support of the Embassy of France in Lithuania and the French Institute in Lithuania. The French Law School is a part of the predoctoral program. Its main aim is to satisfy the increasing need for lawyers knowing (in addition to Lithuanian law) the basic rules of the French legal system, the French juridical vocabulary, the comparative methodology, as well as the detailed French and European Union regulation of public and private law matters. The curriculum of this programme, composed of eight intensive courses of French Law and European Union Law issues, legal research methodology and the possibilities to improve French language, is mainly addressed to Vilnius University students, graduates of all law departments, participants motivated and interested in legal research, academic teaching careers and comparative research of French Law and European Union Law. The French Law School helps to prepare and select the best candidates for joint doctoral studies in law at Vilnius University and Paris West University Nanterre La Défense.
