The Center of Ukrainian Law at the VU Law Faculty kindly invites you to the Panel Discussion “Paving Path to Justice in Ukraine – Overcoming Evidence Collection Challenges in Time of War” where scholars and experts from Lithuania, Ukraine and United Kingdom will discuss a path of seeking for justice.

The last two years starting from the open Russia’s aggression in and against Ukraine in 2022 and already ten years since the Crimea’s occupation in 2014 have caused enormous suffering to Ukrainian people, mass casualties and losses. Numerous frameworks have been invoked by Ukraine striving for stopping the aggression and seeking for Russia’s accountability. Many States, including Lithuania, have made efforts in supporting Ukraine not only by humanitarian, economic, military means, but also joining forces at the legal field in order to cooperate in proving international crimes committed in Ukraine and making Russia accountable for them.

Where are we now? The discussion mainly focuses on the issue, how far the movement towards seeking justice in Ukraine has reached and what progress in legal processes, including evidence collection, has been achieved.
