Discussion “Preventing Violence against Women in Lithuanian, Polish and Italian societies”

The Polish Law School of the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University invites you to the discussion “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence: Preventing Violence against Women in Lithuanian, Polish and Italian societies”.

The discussion will take place on December 2, 13:00-14:30 Lithuanian time, Tech Hub room, Faculty of Law, Vilnius

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that runs from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women until 10th December, Human Rights Day. During the discussion, the latest data collections of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) on the prevalence of violence against women in the EU will be presented. In addition, the features of prevention and response to gender-based violence in Lithuania, Poland and Italy will be discussed from legal, criminological and psychological perspectives

  • Dr Elena Masnevaitė, assistant professor at the Vilnius University Law Faculty, head of the study “Protection against domestic violence: does the legal regulation reflect the actual trends?”, conducted during the summer internship of the LMT student
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr Ilona Michailovič, Head of the Polish Law School, Vilnius University Faculty of Law, organizer and moderator of the discussion
