11 October is a special day for the VU Law Faculty and its‘ community – it is the Faculty’s birthday. Today the Law Faculty has 383 years of history. This number means so much, it is the cherishing of traditions, and knowledge passed on from generation to generation.
On the day of the birthday, the Law Faculty was bustling with activity: in the morning, the book “Protection of Freedom of Economic Activity in Lithuania and Germany” (“Ūkinės veiklos laisvės apsauga Lietuvoje ir Vokietijoje”) was presented, followed by a birthday dessert enjoyed by the faculty lecturers and students. Finally, members of the community were invited to see the exhibition of paintings by Dr Liudvika Meškauskaitė, a professor of practice, on the 3rd floor, where a video of the presentation of her clothing collection, co-designed with fashion designer Juozas Statkevičius, was also shown.
We thank all those who are together with the Law Faculty, and at the same time we congratulate the VU Kaunas Faculty, which celebrates its 60th birthday today.
