In cooperation with the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with which a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in the spring, the VU Law Faculty has been actively promoting the policy of open science by disseminating and promoting the idea of EU law to the society of Ukraine as well as to the members of the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) during this half-year. During the first half of the year, a series of training sessions on the harmonization of the Ukrainian legal system in support of Ukraine’s preparations for EU membership was held, attended by more than 150 Ukrainian parliamentarians and staff of the Verkhovna Rada.
- 12th of April 2024, a webinar on “The EU Legal System: Principles, Sources, and Aspects of Implementation in the National Legal System (Lithuanian Experience)” was held by Tomas Davulis, Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania, Professor at the VU Law Faculty, Head of the Science Center of Labour Law.
- 20th of May 2024, a webinar on “EU Law, International Law, and National Law: agreement, conflict, compliance” was held by the associate proffesor at the VU Law Faculty Dr Indrė Isokaitė-Valužė, Advisor to the Dean on International Development, Head of the Center of Ukrainian Law.
- 27th of June 2024, a webinar was held on the topic “Compliance of national legislation with the requirements of the European Union competition law”.The webinar was moderated by Dr Lauras Butkevičius, senior lecturer at the VU Law Faculty, member of the Lithuanian Bar Association, and the Competition Law Committee, partner at Ellex Valiunas.
