On January 26th graduates of Vilnius University Law Faculty have received their diplomas. The Ceremony took place in th Church of St. Johns. Diplomas were given to graduates of integral and sessional studies and to graduates of master programs: “Criminal justice”, “ES business law”, “International and European Law”. 42 students successfully graduated studies in VU Law Faculty. All students are from various countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Cameroon, Lithuania, Moldova, Nepal, Nigeria, Sakartvel, Pakistan and Ukraine.
The solemn ceremony was led by the Dean of the VU Law Faculty, assoc. prof. dr. Haroldas Šinkūnas, VU vice rector of science, prof. dr. Edita Sužiedėlienė gave in diplomas. In her speech she talked about intelectual value of University and added: „We believe in our graduates“. The Dean assoc. prof. dr. H. Šinkūnas thanked to graduates for their work and efforts and their relatives – for a support.
In the ceremony were invited visitors, which congratulated graduates and were talking about an importance of law. Mayor of Vilnius city, Remigijus Šimašius emphasized the practical use of legal knowledge. Marius Vaščega, The European Commission Head or Representation in Lithuania mentioned an importance of law in solving problems rightfully. Member of the VU Law Faculty Alumni Association, Remigijus Lapinskas, emphasized a possibility to use law in various fields and he invited students to become members of Alumni. Česlav Okinčic, lawyer and the Member of the Vilnius University Council congratulated students with successfull end of studies. During event graduates talked as well – Kamran Kvalilov and Ugur Petcu wished a success to their course mates.
38 diplomas were given during the solemn ceremony, 2 of them Cum laude were dedicated to Deimantė Juščiūtė and Brigita Šimkutė.
