The monograph “Challenges in Harmonizing the integrity and Novelties of the General Part of the Criminal Code” is the first of this kind and scope research in Lithuania that carried out an integrated assessment of the integrity and consistency of the General Part of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania.
The results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis of Lithuanian criminal legislation, international and EU criminal law, criminal law issues of the jurisprudence of CJEU, ECHR, Constitutional Court and SCl, scientific publications, legal practitioners (judges, prosecutors, advocates) and scholars’ opinion, show that the General Part of the Criminal Code lost its integrity and coherence, thus, a working expert group (of criminal law scientists and practitioners) is to be established and is to prepare a new version of the General Part of Criminal Code.
The monograph is prepared by conducting a scientific project “Challenges in Harmonizing the Integrity and Novelties of the General Part of the Criminal Code”, funded by the Research Council of Lithuania.
